Helen Scott
Born on February 14, 1946, in Courtland, Alabama, Helen shares her name with her aunt. Her birthday is on Valentine’s Day, which perfectly suits her loving and easy-going personality, much like her mother’s. An avid reader, Helen was often teased for her ability to read while washing dishes or walking. Thanks to her, we have digitally recorded family history, capturing moments like her parents dancing, her father singing, and siblings and their children showing their passion for music and family fun!
Helen also enjoys playing cards and loves golfing. She and her husband Scott, along with Kay and her husband George, traveled around the country with a club of other golfers.
Her move to Cleveland brought new memories, like her father’s creative Christmas traditions and her unforgettable first day of kindergarten when she left school with a friend instead of waiting for her sister Kay. Professionally, Helen’s journey took her from being a dietary aide at University Hospital, where she met her husband, to becoming an office manager with Regency Thermographers, and later a Real Estate Agent.
Eventually, Helen and her husband moved to Florida, where they owned four UPS stores. Now, she enjoys a fun and active retirement, though she fondly reminisces about the changing seasons of Cleveland.
Helen and her husband Samuel Scott had one daughter, Sonya, and two granddaughters.
