Ruby Parker
Born on December 23, 1939, in Courtland, Alabama, Ruby’s life is a testament to personal strength and family devotion. Her early years were filled with the richness of rural life, from the daily rhythms of farming to the joys of community gatherings.
Ruby has the most vivid recollection of family history, able to recite special moments as if they happened yesterday. She was one of the few who were brave enough to talk back to her father. Popular in school, Ruby often had to find Catherine a date just to be allowed to go out. She loves dancing, traveling, and even tried her hand at golfing for a while.
Ruby worked at Honeywell Industries, the Pre-Release Center for Cuyahoga County, and Tri-C. She also helped in her brother-in-law Andrew Jimerson’s medical practice and is known to be a fierce card player.
Ruby’s deep family connections are the anchor of her life, providing constant support and love. She balanced raising her children with the demands of new settings, always prioritizing their well-being. She was the primary caregiver for mother while she was home. Through it all, Ruby maintained a strong connection to her roots, drawing strength from her upbringing and passing those values on to her children.
She has four children, Lisa, Rodney, Erick, and Marcus. She has seven grandchildren.
